Cabinet Approves Draft Bill on Seizing Property Acquired Through Crime

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft bill on property earned from criminal activities, paving the way for it to be submitted to Parliament. The decision was made at the Cabinet meeting on 9 December 2024, following a proposal by the Minister of Justice and National Integration.
The draft bill, prepared by the Legal Draftsman with the Attorney General’s approval, focuses on addressing the handling of property acquired through illegal means. It includes provisions for identifying and confiscating assets linked to criminal activity.
The next step will be the publication of the draft in the government gazette, after which it will be presented to Parliament for further consideration and approval.
