Six including principal of private school arrested for assaulting students

Six persons including the principal and three teachers of a private school in Bokkawala, Kandy have been arrested for brutally attacking a group of students at the school.

A group of girls and boys aged 15 to 17 staying in school hostels were assaulted by the suspects after the boys sneaked into girls’ hostel on Sunday night, the Police said.

The Police said the suspects have assualted students mercilessly that they have sustained injuries such as hand cuts.

The suspects have been remanded until 20 March after being produced before the Kandy Magistrate.

Kandy Division of Police Children and Women’s Bureau are conducting investigations and the assaulted students have been sent to the Kandy JMO for medical examinations.
