Strikes To Begin Today: Iran Threatens Google and U.S. Tech Giants if Leadership is Targeted

Tehran — In a significant escalation of rhetoric, Iranian officials have issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any attempts to assassinate Iranian leaders will trigger direct retaliatory strikes against major American corporations, specifically naming tech giants Google and Meta.

The warning comes amid heightening regional tensions and serves as a blunt reminder of Tehran’s evolving “asymmetric warfare” strategy. According to statements released by Iranian state-affiliated sources, the Islamic Republic views U.S.-based multinational firms not merely as private entities, but as extensions of American soft power and infrastructure.

“If our leadership is targeted, the response will not be limited to military assets,” a spokesperson indicated. “American economic interests and the digital infrastructure provided by firms like  Apple, Google, Meta, IBM, Tesla and Boeing will be considered legitimate targets for our defensive operations.”

Security analysts suggest that this shift in focus toward Silicon Valley highlights Iran’s increasing reliance on cyber capabilities. By threatening platforms that facilitate global communication and commerce, Tehran aims to create a deterrent that carries a heavy economic and social cost for the American public.

Both Google and Meta have historically been at the center of geopolitical friction, often facing accusations from Tehran of facilitating Western “information warfare” and censoring pro-Iranian content.

The U.S. State Department has not yet issued a formal response to these specific threats, though officials have previously warned that any cyberattack on American infrastructure would be met with “significant consequences.”

As the standoff continues, cybersecurity firms are reportedly on high alert for increased phishing attempts and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks originating from the region, signaling a new and volatile chapter in the ongoing shadow war between Washington and Tehran.
