Report on gas composition to be submitted to State Minister today

A report on the composition of gas in domestic cylinders will be submitted to State Minister of Consumers Affairs Lasantha Alagiyawanna today (27).

Alagiyawanna informed this to Parliament, in response to a question of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

He said that following reports of recent gas leak related explosions, samples from both Laugfs and Litro gas cylinders have been sent to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for testing.

The report of CPC would be submitted today evening and a detailed explanation on the matter would be provided to Parliament on Monday (29), Alagiyawanna said.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on gas explosions.
