Police Constable Arrested for Aiding Middeniya Shooting

A Police Constable attached to the Weeraketiya Police Station has been arrested in connection with the recent triple murder in Middeniya, police confirmed.
The 36-year-old suspect, a resident of Julampitiya, is accused of supplying 12 rounds of T-56 ammunition to the perpetrators of the shooting. The incident, which occurred on February 18, claimed the lives of Aruna Vidanagamage and his two children.
Two gunmen on a motorcycle had opened fire at Vidanagamage, who was traveling on a motorcycle with his son and daughter. The father died on the spot, while his daughter succumbed to injuries at the hospital soon after, and his son passed away the following day.
So far, seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime. The Middeniya Police are conducting further investigations.
