Party memberships of over 1000 UNP LG members revoked

UNP Working Committee ha unanimously decides to suspend the party memberships of 1,137 UNP members who supported other parties.

According to the UNP, some of these members have submitted nominations for LG poll as well.

300 members have requested for a chance to provide explanations but the party decided not to grant it and appoint new members to the post.
