New Director General appointed to Bribery Commission

High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake has been appointed as the new Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The Bribery Commission stated that the appointment was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, effective today (10).

Justice Ranga Dissanayake was appointed to the position following the resignation of the former Director General of the Bribery Commission, High Court Judge W. K. D. Wijeratne, in October 2024.

After the resignation of High Court Judge W. K. D. Wijeratne, Ms. M. R. Y. K. Udawela was appointed as the Additional Director General of the Commission until a new Director General was appointed.

The Bribery Commission further stated that, since that date, she has taken steps to prepare charge sheets for 62 case files and submit them to the court as instructed by the members of the Commission.
