Milk powder importers in crisis due to lack of USD

Several milk powder companies are facing problems as a result of Sri Lanka’s on-going foreign currency crisis, State Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna says.

The State Minister, in an interview with News1st, said that the government would take immediate steps to solve the issue.

He also said that priority will be given to increase local dairy production as a long term solution to the problem.
