Identities of women arrested in Israel revealed
Sri Lankan Ambassador in Israel confirmed the identities of the two Sri Lankan women who were arrested by Israel forces two days ago while attempting to enter Israeli territory from Jordan unlawfully.
According to Ambassador Nimal Bandara, the two women have been identified as 50-year-old J. A. Chamila Thushari and 44-year-old K. A. Sriyani Manjula Kulatunga.
As the two women entered Israel without authorization via the Jordanian border, it has been determined that they will be repatriated to Jordan.
Bandara said both the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jordan will collaborate to address their safety.
The Ambassador further said these women are victims of human trafficking that promised them to get jobs in Israel.
