“I wasn’t elected just to look into price of rice and dhal”: President
I believe that I was not elected just to look into the prices of essential items like rice and dhal but to make a bigger difference in this country, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (23) said.
He made this remark during an inspection visit to a farm that had adopted organic farming.
“There is no point of me being the President, if I just have to look into prices of rice and dhal,” he said.
Speaking further, the President said that past government too tried to introduce organic farming but failed.
“This is a difficult task. But we have to try out best,” he said.
He was joined by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and several other officials.
