Ferry tragedy: Hartal in Kinniya town

Business community in Kinniya down is staging a hartal today (25) in the town, closing down all the shops.

The ferry which had been transported school students across Kuringakerni lagoon, Kinniya capsized on Monday (22) morning.

Six persons including four children were killed due to the incident.

Those who stage the hartal demand justice for the six lives that were lost and the several others who were injured in the incident.

Police arrested the owner of the ferry and two of its operators yesterday (24).
