Duminda Dissanayake Arrested Over Gold-Plated T56 Found at Colombo Apartment

Former Cabinet Minister and SLFP General Secretary Duminda Dissanayake has been arrested while residing in a luxury housing complex in Thimbirigasyaya, police confirmed.

The arrest comes after a gold-plated T56 assault rifle was discovered in a residence within the upscale Havelock City housing complex in Colombo. Investigations have revealed that the weapon is allegedly linked to Dissanayake, a prominent SLFP politician representing the North Central Province.

The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) launched its investigation yesterday (22) and is leading the probe into how the firearm came to be concealed in the apartment.
