Another Gazette revoked: Cabinet grants permission to import chemical fertiliser

Cabinet has approved to revoke Gazette notification banning import of chemical fertiliser, Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said.

Accordingly, private sector will be given approval to import Chemical fertiliser, Weedicides, and Pesticides with effect from Wednesday (24).

The Minister said that the gazette notification banning such imports will be revoked with effect from Wednesday (24) and farmers will be able to buy chemical fertiliser from the market.

However, the government’s green agro-economy policy will not be changed, he said.
