Another explosion in Nikaweratiya

A house has been severely damaged in Kandegedara area in Nikaweratiya following an explosion, the Police said.

According to the Nikaweratiya Police, no casualties are reported due to the explosion.

The Police suspect that the explosion could be occurred as a result of gas leak. However, it would be confirmed after the report of the Government Analyst, the Police added.

A chain of explosions island wide were reported in last few days owing to gas leaks.

However, the gas companies and the government refused the reports that the gas leaks are occuring due to change of gas composition in cylinders.
