Child abduction attempt foiled

The Fort police have arrested a 33-year-old man for attempting to abduct a 7-year-old girl who was visiting Galle Face with her parents.

The incident occurred when the child’s parents raised an alarm, leading to the suspect’s apprehension and subsequent handover to the police.

The arrested individual hails from Uda Pussellawa and was taken into custody based on suspicion, as told by the Police.
